Pool decks, walkways and terraces paved in Golden Granite G682 with a bush-hammered finish, giving a warm non-slip surface for a seaside resort.
The Challenge
Salt air and constant moisture ruled out several materials, and the resort needed a surface that stays comfortable underfoot in direct tropical sun.
The design mixed three formats – 600×600, 600×300 and a 400×400 random pattern – which meant cutting and packing three size runs to arrive together.
The Results
Bush-hammered G682 was selected for its R12 slip rating and its coarse texture, which stays cooler than darker stones under strong sun.
All three formats were cut from the same block lots, packed separately by format and shipped together so the contractor could lay the pattern without waiting.
Coping, pool edges and step treads were cut to the same thickness for a continuous look across the terraces.
