Why G603 Keeps Coming Up in Hotel Fit-Out Meetings

If you run interior fit-out projects for hotels, serviced apartments or commercial lobbies, you already know the brief: a floor and wall material that looks bright and premium, survives luggage trolleys and daily foot traffic, does not blow the budget, and passes indoor environmental review without argument. G603 white granite, quarried and processed by Xuhui Stone in Suizhou, Hubei, answers all four requirements at once, which is why it remains one of the most specified light-coloured granites for hospitality interiors across Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

G603 is a fine-to-medium grained granite with a soft grey-white background and an even scatter of black and grey minerals. Under lobby lighting it reads as a clean, neutral grey rather than a stark white, which gives designers a calm base palette that works with timber, brass, glass and warm LED cove lighting alike.

Hardness and Wear: The Numbers Behind the Look

Beauty means little in a hotel lobby if the floor scratches in its first season. Granite is one of the hardest natural stones used in interior design, and G603 sits comfortably in that range:

  • Density: approximately 2.6 to 2.7 g/cm3, giving slabs a solid, premium feel underfoot
  • Compressive strength: above 100 MPa, easily handling point loads from furniture, trolleys and equipment
  • Water absorption: below 0.4%, so spills and cleaning chemicals stay near the surface instead of staining deep
  • Mohs hardness: 6 to 7, resistant to everyday scratching from grit carried in on shoes

For a fit-out contractor this translates into fewer callbacks, simpler maintenance contracts and a floor that still looks uniform years after handover.

GB 6566 Class A: The Indoor Compliance Card

Indoor stone has one test that outdoor cladding never faces: radiological classification. G603 from our quarry is certified Class A under China’s GB 6566 standard, the strictest category, which permits unrestricted use in interior finishes, including hotels, schools and residential projects.

When your consultant or the hotel operator’s technical team asks for material compliance documents, we supply the full set: test reports, classification certificates and quarry origin declarations. This paperwork routinely shortens material approval cycles for our hospitality clients, because reviewers can close the environmental file at the first submission instead of issuing queries.

Finishes and Formats That Fit Lobby Design

G603 is versatile across surfaces, and each finish creates a different mood from the same stone:

  • مصقول لامع – the classic lobby floor: high gloss, easy to mop, mirrors lighting design beautifully
  • مصقول ناعم – a matte, satin surface for a quieter, contemporary look, popular on feature walls and reception desks
  • Flamed – textured and slip-resistant, used at entrances, terraces and pool surrounds that connect to the interior scheme

We produce G603 in slabs for fabricators as well as cut-to-size tiles, commonly 600 x 600 mm and 600 x 1200 mm in 18 to 30 mm thickness. Custom dimensions for wall cladding modules, stair treads, risers and skirting are produced to your shop drawings, so one material covers the entire lobby package.

Batch Control: One Lobby, One Look

The most common failure in large interior stone projects is not the stone itself but batch mismatch: tiles from different lots showing visible tone steps across a floor. Because we control quarrying and processing in our own facility, we manage batch selection at source. For every lobby order we:

  • allocate a single quarry bench and production window for the full quantity
  • inspect and grade slabs against an approved golden sample before cutting
  • number tiles by area and crate, so your installation team lays each zone from a matched sequence

This is the same discipline we apply to G682 golden granite facade packages, and it is why many of our hospitality clients buy both stones from us for a single project.

From Sample to Container: How We Work With Fit-Out Teams

The process is straightforward. Send us your drawings and finish schedule; we courier polished and honed samples for approval. Once the golden sample is signed off, production of a typical lobby quantity runs within standard lead times, packed in fumigation-free wooden crates with foam interleaving for ocean freight. Whether you need a single 20GP container of tiles or mixed G603 and G682 packages delivered to port, our export team coordinates documents, loading photos and shipping updates end to end.

If you are pricing a hotel lobby, ballroom or retail podium right now, send us the BOQ. We will reply with slab availability, tile pricing by finish and a loading plan for your container – usually within one working day.
